Diabetes

Track your blood glucose levels

According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), 415 million people are affected by diabetes worldwide. Glucose meters allow diabetic patients to carry out self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) at home, so that they can find out their exact glucose levels, control them and prevent imbalances (high/low blood pressure) and adapt their treatment accordingly. SMBG must be accompanied by a therapy education programme.

Manage your diabetes with iHealth.

Diabetes is the result of an abnormal, permanent increase in blood sugar levels, linked to poor functioning of the pancreas. There are 2 types of diabetes. Type 1 diabetes, which is when the pancreas does not secrete insulin, and type 2 diabetes, which is when the body’s cells do not use the insulin properly.  We talk about diabetes when, on an empty stomach, blood sugar levels exceed 1.26g/L. Screening for diabetes is therefore important.

*iHealth Gluco (BG5) and iHealth Align (BG1) are self-monitoring or self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) devices, designed for those who suffer from diabetes. SMBG is used when it is likely to result in a change in therapy; it must be used systematically several times a day for type 1 diabetes and is limited to certain patients

for type 2 diabetes. It requires training with a health professional. Read the instructions carefully. If discrepancies arise between the results and your current state of health, contact your health professional. These in vitro diagnostic medical devices are regulated health products, which bear the CE marking under this regulation. January 2017
